The Ultimate Sunday - A Guide

Ah, Sunday, my favourite day of the week. There is just something so different about this sacred day. Things feel calm and serene instead of the usual mid-week panic and stress that ensues. Instead of writing a whole love letter to just how much I love Sunday's I thought I would share something a little more interesting, a routine if you will?

BREAKFAST & MORNING VIEWING

If there is any day that you can completely justify sitting in bed with your favourite breakfast concoction then it's on a Sunday. A slow morning with my coffee, Grey's Anatomy, lists and preferably my dog is the best way to get the day started. Sunday is typically a lie in day for many but I still like my early mornings. There is something so peaceful about the early morning hours before the world gets properly started and they feel incredibly tranquil.

EXERCISE

As I'm an early bird I like to workout early on a Sunday. I realise this isn't most people's ideal morning but when the gym is so quiet and peaceful it's hard to not want to make the most out of it. There are no pressures or time restrictions so I can take as long as I want. At the moment, I'm really finding my groove with running and whilst I still won't be running marathons any time soon. It's nice to not feel like I'm about to fall on the floor after 60 seconds. Something I've been found particularly good to do after running is this cool down from Yoga with Adriene;

Stretch it out and cool it down after your run with this Yoga For Runners Sequence! Also check out my Yoga For Runners - Warmup Sequence: http://goo.gl/kTaoK9 This practice is an all level sequence that is good for keeping the muscles and joints happy and healthy.

PAMPER

Normally during the week, I don't have much time to do a full pamper routine so I try and do most of it on a Sunday. So my typical routine looks like; hair wash, hair treatment, moisturise, manicure, pedicure [if needs be], clarifying mask and to finish a hydrating mask. It's strange but by doing all those things it makes me feel prepared and ready to take on the week.

WALK

Bundling myself and Bella up to go for a walk is one of my favourite things to do in general but especially on a Sunday. Of course, with the weather in the UK being as temperamental as it is these walks have been a rarity. Getting out in the fresh air where it's peaceful and quiet is something that I love to do. If I feel a little stressed or anxious those thoughts soon melt away. It's also the perfect time to get away from social media and leave my phone at home.  If you're from the midlands area in the UK here are some of my favourite spots:

  • Ladybower Resevoir
  • Clumber Park
  • Hardwick Hall
  • Sherwood Forest
  • Chatsworth
  • The Major Oak
  • Wollaton Hall
  • Matlock
  • Kedleston Hall

BLOGGING & LIST MAKING

My love for list making knows no bounds. I love nothing more than getting myself organised for the week with my blog. I like to write down all the content that I have upcoming and what needs to be done on those specific posts. If for whatever reason I don't manage to do this I tend to feel incredibly scattered. It's also the day that I like to make sure my inbox is properly tackled, starting the week with a completely clear inbox is a great feeling.

What do you like to do on a Sunday?
