How To Fake Being Awake
We all have those days where we just don't look awake, whether it's from a bad nights sleep or a late night it happens to us all. I've had a lot of those nights lately so I've been needing all the help that I can get from my make up to fake looking awake. The key I've found is to illuminate and conceal and here are my favourite products for those mornings when I'm really not looking my best.
To conceal those dark circles I've been reaching for the Bourjois Healthy Mix Concelear, it has an anti fatigue effect which is ideal. This isn't the most illuminating option out there but it really packs a punch with coverage which is something I would choose over brightening as I can go for that in my foundation choice. Whenever I'm tired my complexion is the first place to show it and the YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat foundation is my saving grace. It's like buffing light into my skin and it leaves the most beautiful finish and can be built up on certain areas with ease.
After I've concealed those dark circles I try and brighten up the area with the use of the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Nude Liner and an inner corner highlight. Using the liner along my waterline helps to hide any redness which is something that seems to be a real problem for me. Then I use either the Collection Eyeshadow Pencil or MAC's eyeshadow in Shroom just in the inner corner of my eye to help detract from any bags. The mixture of a cream blush and a highlighter is something that I always turn to whether I'm tired or my skin is just generally a little lack lustre. Two of my favourites are the MAC Mineralise Skin Finish in Soft & Gentle and the Stila Convertible Colour, I've waxed lyrical about them both so many times but they really are fantastic for brightening.
