February Favourites

It feels like we have finally come out the dark side of the winter months into the light of spring possibly with the beautiful sunshine that fills my room each morning. February is a short but sweet month which means it flies by before our eyes without us even realising that we have a whole month of beauty products to look back at. I have been reaching for some old favourites this month and of course there to be a couple of sneaky new purchases too.

Going to back to an old faithful this month in the form of the Philosophy Purity cleanser, no it isn't pure like the name suggests but I find this to just do exactly what I want. It is a no frills or fuss product that simply cleanses the skin without stripping it or leaving me with that awful tight sensation. I have been getting seriously into my purifying masks this month too, my skin seems to be blackhead central at the moment which is probably down to cutting out effaclar duo so I have been turning to the Una Brennan Tea Flower Deep Purifying Clay Mask. This brings everything that I don't want lurking in my pores to the surface but it isn't so clarifying that I get an army of spots the next day, it also hydrates the skin at the same time as some clay masks can be quite drying. Last month I practically wrote a love letter to Batiste in this post and since then I used that can to the end and re-purchased the purity & opulent oriental which I think I prefer.

When I have had any pesky blemishes pop up I have been using the 17 Stay Time concealer which gives a good level of coverage without ever going flaky or looking like I applied it with a trowel. After speaking about this Collection palette a week a go it is the only thing that I have been using ever since I picked it up, it is just the perfect assembly of shades for me. Whilst digging through my vanity a couple of weeks ago I found this Topshop Cream Blush in the shade 'Flush' and it is all I have been reaching for and I forgot just how good the formulation was in these, they dry to a powder finish which lasts all day without separating or fading. Even though I am itching for the warmer months so I can reach for my more pastel hues two shades that have barely left my fingertips and toes are the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in 'Pomegranate' and the Rimmel Kate Moss Salon Pro in 'Punk Rock'. Two shades that are quite different to anything else I have in my never ending stash of nail polish and I will probably carry on wearing them into the warmer months.
