My Top 6 Skincare Items At The Moment
-this post contains PR samples-
I’m more focused on my skin and the products that I’m applying to it more than ever at the moment. The combination of getting married and turning 30 has started a fire within me to get my skin in hopefully the best condition that it’s ever been and these are the products that I cannot get enough of right now.
ALPHA H BALANCING CLEANSER (PRESS SAMPLE)
This has been my go-to cleanser at the moment whenever I’m not wearing make-up as I prefer my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish as my first initial cleanse to remove make-up but this is the perfect second or AM cleanse. It’s very similar to Liz Earle C&P in terms of formula as it’s a lovely nourishing cream that feels incredibly kind to the skin. It’s been perfect for whenever I’ve been dealing with any type of breakout due or irritation to the inclusion of aloe vera in the ingredients list. The fact this cleanser is limited edition is a real shame as it’s lovely and something I imagine could work so well for several skin types. Don’t let the inclusion of Damask Rose put you off either as it’s not highly rose-scented at all I find but then, I am a rose lover.
PIXI MILKY TONIC (PRESS SAMPLE)
Hydrating toners aren’t something that I find myself craving all that much anymore as I use nourishing serums and rich moisturisers during the colder months to replenish any moisture lost. But I can’t deny I love the feeling of swiping a toner all over my skin after cleansing. My current AM toner is the Pixi Milky Tonic, not only does it smell divine but I love how my skin feels after using this, it feels fresh, nourished and ready for the rest of my skincare routine. With jojoba milk and oat extracts, it’s a no brainer that it’s going to be kind to the complexion and it’s just that and more.
figs & rouge revive morning oil (press sample)
This a much thicker oil than I would typically use in the morning but as we’re getting out of winter and I’ve been using retinol on and off I want as much nourishment as possible. Figs & Rouge isn’t a brand I’m overly familiar with but the products that I have tried I’ve really liked and this oil is no exception. In terms of consistency it is quite thick and takes a couple of minutes to sink in, it’s not a lightweight almost dry oil that I’ve used and preferred in the past. It’s described as intense moisture shot and that's exactly what it feels like upon application as it is so deeply nourishing that you only need a tiny amount to reap the benefits. The calendula oil is something that I particularly like being in this oil as that is something I know works wonders on my skin at reducing redness and boosting brightness.
pixi glow tonic serum (press sample)
I’ve been a loyal user and lover of the Pixi Glow Tonic for almost 8 years now so I was interested to see how the serum would perform. The consistency is a little odd to me it’s kind of gel like and you only need a tiny amount as once applied to the skin it almost melts down and once it sinks in then it feels wonderful, almost primer esq. In terms of results, it does everything the glow tonic (gently exfoliates, brightens and refines) does but it just a little more concentrated and feels a touch more nourishing.
bioderma light moisturising cream (previous paid partnership)
This is my current AM moisturiser and if you’re after a simple no frills product that delivers exactly what it says on the tube then this is for you. The gel formulation feels refreshing but deeply nourishing, it delivers the perfect amount of hydration in the morning. What I love about Bioderma products in general is whilst they might not have the fanciest packaging or make crazy bold claims I feel like they are products that you can truly rely on in your skincare routine. In combination with the Figs & Rouge oil that I’ve been using I’ve been left with such a happy hydrated complexion for such an unpredictable season weather wise which typically plays havoc on my skin.
PIXI ROSE CERAMIDE CREAM (PRESS SAMPLE)
I’ve seen so many people mention this moisturiser on Instagram and I’ve had a couple of tubes sat in my bathroom cupboard for a while so I’m thrilled to finally be giving it a go now I’ve used some other things up. Upon first application I knew I loved it, from the smell to how nourishing it felt there was nothing I could pick fault with and now a couple of weeks in I’m in a firm love affair. Despite having rose in title I don’t find it to be very rose scented at all, infact it’s way more citrus based for me which I love as it feels so fresh upon application. It’s an ultra rich nourishing moisturiser and I’ve been using it in the evenings but I think I could happily use it in the morning too, especially on a cold brisk day. Despite being so nourishing it’s not thick or sticky and sinks in so quickly that you don’t have to hang around to apply anything else over the top of it.
