What To Buy Your Hound This Christmas
The festive season is well and truly upon us which means we’ve all inevitably thought about what we might get for our dogs this Christmas. If I’m honest, I’ve had what I’m going to get Josie and Edie in my mind for a long time as I’ve always got a rolling list of things that I’d like to buy them as there are always so many beautiful things popping up on my Instagram feed. Nearly all of these things happen to be from small businesses too and there is nothing better than supporting a small business owner during the festive period. Some of these gift suggestions probably won’t come as a surprise to most of you as they’re the things that we recommend all year round but picking them up as a Christmas gift makes them even better.

Emily stocks some of the best treats and chews around and creates the most wonderful custom accessories so you can have whatever your dogs needs, we’ve currently got some beautiful rope leads on order and I’m so excited to receive them. And Emily gives such wonderful service too, no matter your question even if it seems silly she will take the time to answer it and assist with your order.
a photo shoot with fur & fables
A lovely gift for you and your dogs would be a photoshoot with them. I’m sure we’ve all got a thousand pictures of our dogs on our phones but what about pictures of you with them? You might already know who Kerry is if you a have a whippet, she creates the beautiful imagery that you see on the Redhound for Dogs website and a plethora of other beautiful dog brands. She also does personal shoots which are just so wonderful, having professional photographs of yourself and your dog is something that you’ll want to keep forever and being able to put something up like that around your house is so special. Josie and Edie are still only babies really but I still love looking back on the pictures that I have with them when they were puppies and I always try and get photographs with them when I can as they change so quickly.
helping a hound in need
If your dog doesn’t need something physical then a great gift would be taking the money that you would spend on them and helping a charity in need. Being a sighthound owner and lover those are the charities that I choose to support and they require so much support. The greyhound industry is sadly something that is still thriving and is exceptionally cruel and then there are the Galgos in Spain still being used for hare hunting and then being dumped like rubbish when they’re not needed anymore. There are so many ways that you can support a hound in need whether that is financially by donating money or in another way that works for you. Fostering is an incredible thing to do if that’s something you’re in the position for or sponsoring a dog in their quest to find their forever home or even just sharing rescue charities you care about to raise awareness about them.
