Your Weekend Reading, Watch & Listen List #12
I hope you’ve all had a good first week of September? I’m such a summer lover but I can’t deny that I’m a little excited for the cooler weather, for the leaves to turn a vibrant shade of red and to not have to worry about walking my dogs. September is one of my favourite months for a couple of reasons; it signifies a fresh start and all the good tv shows come back on tv and this is everything that I've been enjoying lately on tv and online.
The Great British Bake Off has returned, nothing makes me happier than seeing that return to tv.
I’m not much of a film watcher but I thoroughly enjoyed Us, a very clever horror movie.
Season 3 of 13 Reasons Why came out and we’ve finished it and I’m still not sure what to think, the shows gone down a whole different path that I didn’t expect.
I finally decided that Amazon Prime TV was worth it and I’m currently rewatching The Walking Dead as I lost track with the show a while ago and I forgot how brilliant the first few seasons are.
And I managed to convince my boyfriend that we should watch Modern Family, if you enjoy the likes of F.R.I.E.N.D.S and The Office then you will probably love this show.
I ventured back through my iTunes library and rediscovered Best Coast, easy summer listening at its finest.
I’ve also been loving PVRIS’s first album.
And all of Paramore albums.
Meg launched an incredible website and podcast all about mental health called Listen Louder and I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the episodes, such a comfort if you struggle with your mental health.
Finally, my dreams were answered when I saw that Sali Hughes released a podcast all about beauty.
Despite not really wanting children myself I’ve really enjoyed Clemmie Hoopers Birth Stories podcast.
A great think piece from Michelle on leather, as a vegetarian I don’t eat animals but I still use animal products in my life which I would desperately like to cut back entirely.
Such a beautiful post about adopting a child from Elsie Larson.
Another great one from Elsie about The Art Of Letting Go.
If you’re looking for a new TV show to watch then this post is a must read.
This is a really important post on cultural appropriation and something everyone should read.
