The Skincare That Can Help You Fake A Good Routine When You Can't Be Bothered
Skincare is something I obviously care quite a lot about as it's something I wrote about on a regular basis but I have to be honest sometimes I really can't be bothered with the whole rigorous routine. Sometimes I really do just want to fall into bed and go to sleep within 30 seconds and not have to stand around in the bathroom doing a double cleanse. But my urge not to get a face full of breakouts because I've been slack with my skincare routine is a little stronger so it's an ongoing battle. However, I've found a few products that allow you to be a little carefree with your routine once in a while or are just great if you can't be bothered with a laborious routine and here are the details on them.
CLEANSER
To simply remove your makeup and give your skin a quick once over I truly don't think a micellar water can be beaten. I never think these should be used in the long run as your only cleanser as giving your skin a proper cleanse with a wash cloth of some sort [I'm a flannel girl personally] is the foundation of a good skincare routine. There are others that I've tried and liked but nothing will ever rule my skincare stash like the Garnier Micellar Water. It removes all makeup with ease, without irritation and doesn't disrupt the balance of my skin which is something I find is all too easy to do. Sometimes there are instances in life where we don't always have the time for a double cleanse and that is why a micellar water is so wonderful as it gets the majority of dirt and grime off your skin with just a swipe of a cotton round.
TONER/TREATMENT
I love toner, we all know this and I do believe you either prescribe to toner life or you don't. A glycolic or salicylic acid toner is something that I use on a daily basis anyway but a treatment I know that I can turn to when I'm being particularly lazy with my skin is the Alpha H Liquid Rose Gold*. I mentioned this in a post a few days ago and I hate to mention it again so soon but it was the product that inspired this entire post after all. If my skin is either going through a tough time or I've just been really lazy I know I can rely on this to either prevent breakouts or help anything that might have already erupted. Not only does it tackle breakouts brilliantly but it also helps to refresh and resurface the skin which helps it look brighter, tighter and really sloughs away at any scarring. You do have to build up your tolerance to such products as this. Even as a daily user of either glycolic or salicylic acid I found this a little tough on my complexion but now I can happily use it alone to really reap the rewards of it.
MOISTURISER
As well as a resurfacing treatment I'm also a sucker for an overnight moisture boost. There have been several that I've used and loved in the past but as of right now I'm using the Beauty Pie Jeju Overnight Moisture Superfusion*. I was so excited to see that Beauty Pie has extended their line to include skincare now anyway and my first foray into it has been great. This is a very unusual product, nothing like I've ever used as it's very thick in consistency, it's almost like cold butter but it melts into the skin beautifully. I use this is lieu of a moisturiser for a big boost of hydration [although this is supposedly a moisturiser it doesn't seem that way to me and I use it as more of an overnight mask]. It contains Jeju which aims to balance oil in the skin and the hyaluronic acid is what provides such a large boost of moisture. So often with such rich products, they can cause the skin to freak out and I've had that happen in the past but this just leaves me with soft supple skin in the morning. No blemishes or irritation to be seen!
QUICK FIXES
Sometimes we all need a quick fix when it comes to our skin and these two masks can be slathered on and within fifteen minutes the skin immediately looks better. Of course, a mask isn't something you're going to be reaching for in the PM if you're particularly tired but in the AM if you've got the time whilst you're eating your breakfast they can be awesome.
BEAUTY PIE FRUITZYME FIVE MINUTE FACIAL*: Another one from the Beauty Pie skincare line is the Fruitzyme Five Minute Facial*. If you've ever used the mask from Ren that feels like you're slathering on jam to the face then this is exactly like that in terms of results but better in formulation, I think. As it contains small buffing particles it allows you to give the skin a physical exfoliation upon removal which aids brightening effect of the fruit enzymes. If you're not into chemical brighteners then this might be a great option to look into as well.
THE BODY SHOP HIMALAYAN CHARCOAL PURIFYING GLOW MASK*: Sometimes clay masks can take a few uses to really see the results of but this one from The Body Shop gives instant clarity to the skin. If you're sensitive to clay masks drying down and being a little bit of a pain to remove then this will not be for you as it does dry very firmly on the skin. But I find that does result in exfoliation upon removal as it's quite bitty. It clears out everything from the skin and leaves you with a radiant glow afterwards and even though it can be stubborn to remove I don't find it to try the skin out at all which is always a worry with a clarifying mask.
