One Of The Best Winter Purchases To Make This Season
Last year was the first time I really felt myself falling in love with ankle boots. They were always something that I admired on other people but never thought they looked quite right on me but now I'm somewhat obsessed. For years, I wore unpractical shoes in the winter months and my feet will probably never forgive me for it but this year I'm well prepared and none of my toes will be turning blue. And what makes this year different is that I've got a pair that is not only appropriate, comfortable and stylish but they're a purchase that gives back into the world so what could be better?
Finding a low boot that is flattering on the ankle isn't something I believe is all that easy to find but this pair from TOMS* are absolutely beautiful. They sit at such a flattering point on the ankle and elongate the leg which is key for me when it comes to boots. They're a black suede and grey wool mix which isn't something that I've ever seen before. And typically when I hear the word suede when it comes to boots I go running but these are sturdy and pretty hardy even for a muddy dog walk. Of course, you won't want to be wearing these in a torrential downpour but day to day A/W wear they are perfect. I've been wearing them every chance I've had in the past few weeks, they're super comfortable and the small heel gives you that lift without having to be in a serious amount of pain by the end of the day. I've been pairing them with absolutely everything, they look lovely on more casual days with leggings and oversized knit which is my cold weather uniform. But I've also paired them with a jumper dress and a trench coat and they worked wonderfully with that too. A wardrobe piece that can be transitioned for any type of occasion and season is so important.
