A Shade Of Pink For Any Occasion

Pink is a funny shade for me, it's never been my favourite colour from the rainbow (I was always a purple lover as a child). I go through stages where I can't get enough of those pastel hues and then other times where I think it looks utterly horrific on me. So I've gathered together the best of the best from my beauty stash to give you pinks for any sort of occasion:

The Sculpting Shades That Go With Any Lip Colour: This is the year that I definitely discovered how to add some definition to my cheeks without the need for bronzer. Nars Douceur (RIP) stole my heart earlier in the year and now it has been replaced with the beautiful Tarte Exposed. As you can see the colours are very similar and they both leave a lovely flush to the cheeks without being too obvious and go with any lip colour imaginable, especially red!

The Creamy Offerings: The Stila Convertible Colour in Lilium has to be my most worn blush of all time, quite a claim there. If you're new to the world of cream products then this is great as it blends beautifully and can be used as a lipstick too. I'm not much a pink wearer when it comes to the eye, if I'm honest it makes me look like I've acquired an unfortunate disease. One I do love is the MeMeMe Dew Pot in Coral Blossom*, I love to use this as a base under other shadows most of the time but worn alone it adds just a small amount of pink to the lids.

The Everyday Lip: Although I absolutely love a bold lip, for everyday I just cannot be bothered with the hassle. I like to go something that is fuss free so that I don't have to worry about getting lipstick on my cheek or chin (seriously that has happened before). For a tinted lip balm I either go for the Lanolips Lip Ointment in Rose* or the Clarins Lip Balm Crayon in Creamy Pink*, both are fantastic for adding a wash of colour to the lips without being too high maintenance. If you fancy a more traditional lipstick offering the Bourjois Rouge Edition in Shade 4 is absolutely lovely, it's the ideal everyday shade for my skin tone as it's not too stark. For something a tiny bit brighter is the MAC Lipstick in Creme Cup, a blogger classic and it's easy to see why. It's such a beautiful milky pink shade that could be worn either in the day or paired with a smoky eye for an evening out.

The Sort Of Bold Options: I use the term bold loosely as they are most definitely not that bold but totally more bold than my milky pink offerings. If you're after a vintage dusky pink than the Revlon Matte Balm in Sultry is exactly what you're looking for. Possibly my best lip discovery of the year, it's just so flattering and can be worn either completely opaque or lightly patted into the lips. Two brighter options are the Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Colour in Rosy and the Korres Lip Butter in Pomegranate. What I love about these options is that they both go on sheerly and have a light consistency so it doesn't feel as scary as slicking on a bright fuchsia pink. They both lean toward the more red side of pink which is something I find easier to wear than a shade that has a strong blue undertone to it.
