In Case of Emergency

Obviously if you have a real emergency this post isn't what you should be reading. These are the products that I reach for when I have a spot emergency, I'm not talking about just your regular little pimple I'm talking about these ones that make your entire face hurt. My skin has the tendency to scar badly so anything I can do to help to spot vacate the premises as soon as possible. So this is my emergency kit for when such times arise.

I try to calm down my skin as much as possible, it is tempting to just go crazy and piles on a ton of products but as always less is more. The Aloe Calming Facial Cleanser* from The Body Shop has been my go to for any kind of skin issues. It's incredibly gentle and cleanses the skin throughly without aggravating any issues I might be having. An old faithful in my stocks is the Origins Out of Trouble mask, I bought this when I had really bad issues with skin and it was such a saviour back then and still is now. I tend to use this in designated areas for around 40 or so minutes, it calms everything down as well as stopping the spot from getting even more aggressive.

If the mask isn't enough then I reach for the Origins Super Spot Remover, I only use this on spots have been brought to a head this is a no go for the cystic blighters. I apply a tiny amount on a cotton bud and then to the spot, I don't like this getting on any of the surrounding skin otherwise it dries it out. Sudocrem* is controversial in the beauty blogging world but I love it and I always will, whenever I'm having really problems with a spot a little bit of this overnight or under make up really helps. After all that and the spot in finally on its way out I like to apply a tiny amount of the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream on the area just to soothe any dryness or irritation.

What do you reach for in such occasions?
