Exceeding Expectations #2

I love finding products that exceed my expectations, I'm quite hard to please when it comes to beauty products. If I splurge on something I expect high quality but that isn't always the case and nowadays the high street is really bringing its A game and there are some absolute gems to be found. So here are the latest bunch of beauty products that keep on blowing me away.

After trying a couple of beauty items from the brand Rodial I was quite excited to trial some of their skincare items. One of my favourites has been the Rodial Super Acids X-Treme Hangover Mask*, a three step facial all combined into one. It works at giving the skin a deep cleanse whilst exfoliating and finally giving a big boost of moisture, my skin has never looked so good after I've applied this. It instantly brightens my complexion so I reach for this when I want my skin to really look & feel amazing. I've mentioned The Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Reviver* in a few posts but it really does blow me away each time I use it, it gives me the exact same results as serum that costs over £100 yet it costs less than £20? If you are in the market for a brightening serum this is definitely worth giving a go.

The Seventeen Stay Time concealer has been my go to for a couple of years now, concealer is an area I tend to struggle with so I stick to what I know and love. I picked this up on a whim, it's such a creamy formulation whilst still offering such high coverage but it never clings to any dry patches or gathers by the end of the day which is one of bug bears with concealer. For a high street option too I find the colour match to be spot on as a lot of them tend to be a little dark, ahem Collection. Although I'm not an eyeshadow expert I know what is a good formulation and when I picked up the Collection Nude Palette I didn't really have high hopes for it. The shadows are really soft and last all day on even my oily lids with creasing or just disappearing. It's an ideal palette for travel too as it is so small and has a matte brown for my brows too, the packaging is little to be desired but it is what inside that counts.

Probably my most worn lipstick over the past few months has been the Bourjois Rouge Edition in shade Rose Tweed, it is a beautiful vintage pink shade. I find the formulation to last a long time whilst wearing evenly throughout the day too and I'm on the hunt for more shades from this line. I'm a nail polish hoarder, I always seem to pick up a new shade every few weeks and a formula that has really been wowing me lately is the Maybelline Super Stay 7 Days nail polish. I own a few colours from the line but the formulation and brush is absolutely fantastic, they really do last 7 days if you want them too and are opaque in a couple of coats. The shade above is Nude Rose which is a beautiful pink, but I also love Mint for Life and Hot Salsa.
