Confidence Boosters
Whenever I'm having a little bit of a 'blurgh' day and yes that is an official mood description there is nothing better than applying some of my favourite products. There are a select few items that just give me that confidence boost that I did. This is probably one of my favourite things about make up is how even on your worst day it give you the pick up you need.
It all starts with my base, I want my skin to look as good as it possibly can whilst still looking natural. The YSL Youth Liberator is definitely my best base discovery of this year, it has a gel formulation that still maintains a good level of coverage without making the skin appear heavy. To set that all into place I use the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation, which is a mineral based foundation but I like to use it as a setting powder as it is a little too dark to be used as a base. I find the combination of the two of these work so beautifully on the skin and last all day too.
My brows aren't my favourite thing to do but when I fill them in they make such a difference to my face and it is a little added bit of confidence as lets face it this year has been the year of the power brow. I always use MAC Mystery through them as it is the perfect neutral brown as I never want them to look too red or too ashy. If I'm not feeling my best then my skin is probably mirroring that and not exactly looking lit from within so I fake it with the MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft & Gentle, a beautiful highlight shade. Whenever I apply this I remember just how much I love it and how beautiful it looks on the cheeks and bridge of the nose. A red lip is something that I absolutely love applying, there is just something about it that makes me feel so confident and if I'm feeling a more minimal yet statement look then this is how I go about achieving it.
