A Thing for Rose
With a blog name like 'From Roses' and then having numerous roses tattooed around my body you might get an inkling that I might also like rose in my beauty products too. It is only in recent years that I've really started to like the scent though, it can be quite overpowering if you aren't careful with what you buy. It is more something I look for in my skincare & body care as opposed to my make up although there are a couple of products that made their way in.
Jurlique really bring it when it comes to rose, they seem to have got the formulation just right. The Jurlique Hand Cream is a favourite of mine so it lives on my dressing table/desk so I can reach for it throughout the day. It's hydrating but it doesn't leave a greasy residue which isn't ideal when your typing all day. The Rose Shower Gel* has been one of my favourite discoveries this year, it is the only rose body wash that I've ever really gotten a long with, it leaves the skin clean and hydrated and I like that the scent does linger slightly. Two skincare products that I forgot to photograph are the Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist* and the Rose Moisture Plus Daily Moisture Balancing Serum* which I've spoken about multiple times before and absolutely love.
A budget friendly mask is the Una Brennan Rose Intense Moisture Mask, this leaves the skin plump and hydrated within 5 minutes so is a great one if you need a pick me up in the morning as it gets to work straight away. The Smiths Minted Rose lip balm is a product that whilst I love I don't think it is the greatest balm out there is your in serious need of moisture but it does add a pretty rose glow to the lips and it smells lovely too. The Jurlique Rose Silk Finishing Powder is a product that reminds me of type of make up that would have been around in the 1940's. The formulation is like talc but I love using this when I've got a long day ahead as it sets everything into place without making the skin look too matte or powdery. I've not ventured very far into the world of rose perfumes but one I absolutely love is Roses de Chloé*. I'm a huge fan of the original Chloé but with that added hint of rose it is absolutely beautiful and I think I actually prefer it over the original now.
