Favourites in May

May was a good to me and it is my favourite month out of the entire year, I wish I could just go back to the beginning and relive the last few weeks all over again especially my birthday. As well as a lot of highs there were a few lows too but I'm looking forward to putting them behind me and starting a fresh. A few beauty products came into my life that are going to sticking around for a long time and a couple of re-discoveries that hold a high status in my routine.

I had been eying up the Zoeva Rose Gold Luxury Set of brushes for months but they were out of stock for so long I had given up all hope of getting them. On a midnight peruse of the site I saw that they had come back and ordered without a second thought, my dad kindly paid for them as one of birthday presents and when I unwrapped them it was love at first sight. The design is so dreamy but they are also incredibly soft, I was nervous about giving new brushes a go as I love my Real Techniques ones so much but these are just as good.  Another birthday gift was the Bobbi Brown - Rosy lipstick from my best friend, I had been after this for a while after seeing Jen & Brit wearing it. Not a shade I would usually for as it a bright pink but it looks absolutely beautiful on the lips and the formulation is lovely.

A couple of old favourites come in the form of the Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation and the Stella by Stella McCartney perfume. Silk Creme is probably my all time favourite base and something I hadn't used in a long time but I dug it back out a couple of weeks ago and fell back in love with the coverage and finish of it. It is very much a full coverage foundation but it doesn't leave the skin looking heavy and weighed down or too matte which is what I want in my base. I try and use the Stella by Stella McCartney sparingly as I haven't got much left and it is one of my favourites, there is just something about this fragrance that I absolutely love but can't quite put my finger on what it is. It isn't like me too steer to far away from a red manicure but the Topshop Nail Polish in Tidal is a beautiful blue/grey colour that looks lovely on the nails and toes. Although I can't say I'm too much of a fan of the formulation as it seems to chip quite easily so I can only wear it for a couple of days.

My sister passed along the Organix Thick & Full Biotin and Collagen Root Boost Spray to me and it has really done wonders for making my hair feel thicker. I'm really careful when using these types of products as using them too much will have the adverse affect and make your hair feel very dry and damaged. A couple of face masks have really wowed me this month and they are the Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque and the Jurlique Fruit Enzyme Exfoliator*, I use them in rotation and they make my skin feel absolutely incredible and have really helped with any breakouts.  Finally is the Jurlique Calendula Redness Rescue Soothing Moisturising Cream* I should probably stop going on and on about this product but I think is absolutely incredible. It has pretty much eliminated the use of a anti redness primer in a routine which is something I never thought I would be able to get from a moisturiser.
