My Blogging Manifesto 2020
Over the past couple of months and especially over my Christmas break I thought a lot about where I want this blog to go and what type of content that I want to put out in 2020 and continue into a new decade. While so many people have left their blogs behind to gather dust in the search for new shinier ways to share their lives. But, for me, this blog will always be my little home on the internet and I don’t want to abandon it so this is my blogging manifesto for the upcoming year.
reasons to love blogging
You have complete creative control.
There is never a bad time to start blogging, even though it’s not as popular as it once was it’s something that is still thriving.
You can write about whatever you want and someone somewhere will relate and find comfort in your words, whether it’s about mental health or model trains.
There is no right or wrong way to do it.
It’s not subject to any algorithms or trends.
Whatever you choose to write about there will be a community of people you will find from it and that can be life changing.
A blog can be a hub to showcase your skills that could help you in your career.
You own the content that you produce.
A blog is searchable.
my blogging manifesto for 2020
To create content that is not only of use but also a form of escapism for people.
To respect my audience and accept the responsibility that comes with having an online platform.
To keep my blog a safe space free of judgement.
To direct brands to this space and show the value of a blog post.
To always be honest about paid partnerships and gifted products.
To be a little more fluid with my schedule.
To push myself to get out of my comfort zone.
To not worry so much about the numbers.
To create content that I would want to read and make part of my day.
To not be afraid to post something that is just for fun, not everything that has to be deep and meaningful.
To continue with my passion project The Adventures of Josie and Edie.
To always remember my why.
