Introducing Kelsey From A Balancing Peach
Today's interview is one that I've been excited about for a while. I love nothing more than getting to know the people behind the blogs that I admire. And Kelsey's blog A Balancing Peach has become one of my firm favourites over the past few months. I hope you enjoy reading this post as much as I did.
TELL US A LITTLE MORE ABOUT YOURSELF KELSEY?
I always find it so hard to talk about myself! But I'm a twenty something year old currently living in Wyoming who has a growing passion for photography and enjoying the little things in life. I consider myself to be something of a nacho expert who enjoys a good glass of wine and loves gushing over any floral arrangement. Hopefully that doesn't sound too prepared and online profile-y!
CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE MORE ABOUT A BALANCING PEACH?
My little blog is all about finding the beauty in balancing out life! For me I am always trying to balance out my life whether it's from indulging in skincare + beauty finds to discovering new spots to travel to. I really believe life is best balanced out and not just in the downward dog over a cliff kind of way.
WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION FOR SETTING UP A BLOG?
I actually don't talk about this much on my blog, since I started it up out of heartbreak, which always seems like such a downer of a subject! But I was going through a rough break up and after being with someone for so long I needed something in my life that was solely mine and somewhere I could escape to. I'm not sure if stuffing my face into a computer for umpteen hours on the weekend was the best way to deal with my emotions, but it seemed like a better way to deal with it than hitting up local bars.
(Don't worry I'm not all that level headed - I definitely went and got a breakup kitten, who is now the little terror in my household named Finnick.)
WHAT ELSE DO YOU GET UP TO APART FROM BLOGGING?
I always try to stay really active! Whether that's running with my dog, teaching spin classes or riding my horses back at my parents ranch in Colorado, I like it best when I'm busy. Though one of my favorite times spent relaxing and away from my blog is chasing + photographing sunsets.
CAN YOU GIVE US A LITTLE INSIGHT TO LIFE IN WYOMING?
It's a bit different than most places. We literally have more cows than humans in our state :) Which is such an odd thing to broadcast, I realize, yet it is kind of what makes it so special. We have tons of big open blue skies along with mountain views that are to die for - google the Tetons and Medicine Bow Peak - and people are so laid back and friendly here.
It can be a stark contrast to even medium sized cities, but I think that's why I fell in love with it. It has forced me to appreciate the slow moments in life and stay completely grounded.
HOW DO YOU JUGGLE EVERYTHING?
I would love to say I have it together all the time and never once feel flustered with my schedule, but that would be a lie. It definitely helped me to figure out a scheduling tool that helps me keep track of deadlines and such. Though I think the best thing I do while juggling everything is being able to laugh at myself. I'm such a hot mess some days and rather than getting down on myself, I try to let it roll off my back and realize that buying sour cream rather than cream cheese for a dessert isn't the end of the world. Life is messy, no way around it - may as well enjoy it and get a chuckle out of it.
A FEW OF YOUR CURRENT FAVOURITES?
Right now I'm currently obsessing over Maybelline's Fit Me foundation and pairing it with Loreal's Infallible Eye shadow in Amber Rush for an every day pretty look. And like the rest of the world, lace up flats and off the shoulder tops are taking over my Pinterest boards. Also I'm fairly certain I want anything and everything from Parris Chic Boutique.
& FAVOURITE BLOGS?
Well obviously From Roses! I always think you have such a good balance of life vs beauty - definitely an inspiration! And Elanaloo is living the life I dream of. Traveling + taking gorgeous photo after gorgeous photo... yes please! While my friend Annie from MontgomeryFest makes me wish that I was over in London exploring all the pretty streets.
There are soooo many others I truly love reading, but with spring fever at all time high, I'm obsessing over any talented florist on Instagram. The Lovely Ave who makes paper flowers that are simply stunning and MegeanFloris
WHAT'S TO COME IN THE FUTURE FOR ABP?
More lifestyle pieces. Don't get me wrong I love a good flatlay as much as the next girl, but I want to talk about more than what I just bought at Sephora. And more travel! All my travel lined up to be in two months this year, so I'm excited to be back on the road.
