The Best Feel Good Beauty Products On A Budget

Being in the beauty world can easily screw with your perspective and make you believe that the enticing world of all things beauty has to be high end but it doesn't. During my teenage years, I never spent more than £15 on a beauty product but I absolutely loved the act of applying makeup. So today I wanted to talk about finding the joy beauty products away from the high price tags and why the simple act of applying our favourite products is more special than we give it credit for.

WE ALL HAVE A DIFFERENT RELATIONSHIP WITH BEAUTY

My relationship with the products that I apply and use has changed so much over the years. When I was a teenager it was just fun for me and a stage of discovery. In my late teens and early 20's when I was suffering from terrible cystic acne during my time on the contraceptive implant. My makeup routine became a mask to hide the confidence crippling breakouts I was struggling with. Then in my mid 20's I used makeup as a distraction away from what was going with my physical health as on the days that I could apply makeup or paint my nails it made my day truly special. And now in my later 20's makeup is not only something that has become part of my job but it's a part of my life where I get to be truly selfish and do something that only benefits myself. Those 15 minutes that I get to apply my makeup and forget about what's going on in the world or what I have to do that day is something I truly savour.

THE PRODUCTS THAT CAN SUIT ANY BUDGET

I have a taste for high-end beauty products, there is no denying that. But there are so many great budget items that can make all the difference in the world to how we feel and I thought I'd share some of my favourites with you today:

NAIL POLISH

Brands like Rimmel and H&M have bridged the gap nicely for us to have polishes that apply and last well without the steep price tag. Painting my nails is something that makes me feel like I can take on the world. Which of course is an incredibly dramatic way to explain your relationship with something so simple as a nail polish but it's true. Even if the rest of my appearance is completely dishevelled having a manicure and a pedicure makes me feel polished and put together.

LIPSTICK/TINTED LIPBALM

If taking the time to slick on a manicure isn't your thing then maybe a lipstick or a tinted lip balm is. It's something that only takes seconds to apply but can make all the difference to how you feel. And I know whenever I see someone wearing a red lip especially I know that they mean business and they've put on that lipstick because it makes them feel awesome. There is a whole host of options on the high street from Rimmel's new matte line to Burt's Bees tinted balm that can make you feel awesome as soon as you apply them.

CONCEALER

Not personally my favourite beauty product but a lot of ladies always say that if they could only choose one item then it would be a concealer. Hiding your dark circles and blemishes is something that can build your confidence tenfold. There are so many amazing concealers on the market now that can add light and radiance to the skin without the need for a heavy base. A good foundation is hard to come by on a budget [although the options are much better than they used to be]. As it's not as simple as just finding one to suit your skin tone which is tough enough but there are so many other factors to consider.

MASCARA

Mascara is one of those instant pick me up products and never fails to me make me look more awake. Even though I'm naturally dark haired my lashes are surprisingly light and it can make my eyes look a little odd when I have such dark brows. There are hundreds of mascaras on the market and they can wrack up in price but personally, I think some of the best come from the likes of Rimmel and Maybelline. It's a product that you can wear on its own without any other makeup and it doesn't look odd or out of place.
