A Lightweight But Full Coverage Base To See You Through Summer

When it comes to foundations I am a sucker for a full coverage base. Although some might say that my skin doesn't require that much coverage but I feel comforted knowing that my skin looks absolutely flawless and is completely uniform. Tinted moisturisers and BB creams typically aren't my thing due to my deep love for anything full coverage. But there are a couple in my stash that I know I can depend on to give me the coverage I need but maintain that lightweight nourishing feeling. I've been using a duo that was used on me during a meeting with the brand a year or so ago and completely fallen in love with it again and it's become my warmer weather staple. Please tell me rain is on the way soon though?

bareminerals complexion Rescue* & bareminerals original foundation*

The Complexion Rescue from the brand is a cult item and it's not hard to understand why when you use it. It feels absolutely beautiful on the skin, so lightweight and refreshing but it still gives me the coverage that I need. As it's a gel it really helps to cool down the complexion when the temperatures over 20c by 9am and personally a gel formulation is one of my favourites when it comes to any base. If you don't like much faff when it comes to you base then I cannot recommend this enough as it's one of those great items that could see you through the entire year. To finish off the skin and up the level of coverage I've been reaching for an old faithful in the shape of the bareMinerals Original Foundation. I'm so glad that I was taught how to use this properly as it's such a life saver when the weather is obscenely hot in the UK. Mineral foundations were always something that I stayed away from as I was worried that they might look cakey and dry but this doesn't at all. You can either use it like you would a normal powder and it almost melts into the skin if applied properly [a big fluffy brush and lots of blending]. Or to layer up and really achieve a full coverage look then working with more product and more blending. The combination of the two has been ideal for the days where I don't really want to feel anything on my skin but still want the coverage this duo provides as well as the staying power. And with it being summer and SPF being key both of these items contain sun protection as well as protection against UV rays.

what is your favourite lightweight base that still offers up coverage?
