6 Of The Best Beauty Items From 2015 So Far
As I'm not a partaker in monthly favourites I don't get much of a chance to share my most beloved beauty products of the moment. I'm a sucker for a big roundup of yearly favourites so I thought I'd share some of the best discoveries I've made in the past 6 months. I still cannot believe that we're now halfway through 2015. Maybe I've just hibernated for the first half of the year?
LA ROCHE POSAY EFFACLAR CLARIFYING TONER*: My love for exfoliating toners is something that's well documented on the pages of From Roses. They've completely changed the condition of my skin and have drastically reduced any spot scarring I've had. This is one of the most gentle toners that I've ever used yet one of the most effective, it feels like you're wiping water all over your face. The only issue that I have with this is that it's not available separately and you have to buy the entire set to get hold of it. As I'm a lover of Effaclar Duo [+] it's not a huge inconvenience for me but still a little irritating.
BUMBLE AND BUMBLE GROOMING CREME: A product that has been sat in my overflow beauty product stash for a long time. I'd used it loved it and then it got lost in my collection. I suffer from terribly static hair, it's the bain of my life. A small dollop of this ran through the ends and I've not had to tackle static in weeks and I couldn't be happier. It's perfect for prolonging hair styles too, my hair is known for falling out of style in minutes. It's not a cheap product admittedly, but anything that can defeat my flyaway tresses is totally worth it.
TOO FACED CHAMPAGNE SHADOW INSURANCE: Possibly my favourite makeup discovery of the year. I've used it every single time I've worn makeup since March. It's the perfect champagne shade for my skin tone, not too pink and not too yellow. You can wear this alone and still have a pretty eye look but under a shadow like MAC's Naked Lunch it's champagne perfection. It really adheres the shadow to the lid and there isn't any smudging or creasing in sight, even in the blistering heat. This has become a complete staple for me, I can see myself using it for years to come.
DR JART WATER SURE GEL*: Hyaluronic acid is a skincare rediscovery for me. I dabbled in the world of Hydraluron and liked it but never truly loved it. Enter this product from Dr Jart, before this I never thought much of the brand but it's slowly become one of my go to's for skincare. This gel sinks into the skin immediately so on first application I didn't expect much from it, but it hydrates the skin incredibly well without making it tacky. Within a few uses, I noticed my skin was super plump and just generally looked a lot healthier. Hyaluronic acid is now a complete staple in my skincare routine to tackle my dehydration issues.
FRESH SUGAR LIPBALMS: Technically I discovered these dreamy balms last year but the shade Petal made its way into my life in 2015. These balms are pricey there is no denying that but they are so worth it. They offer the best of both worlds in my opinion. They're incredibly pigmented, pretty much opaque in one swipe yet they're so hydrating on the lips. I never have to worry about them clinging to any dry patches as they glide over everything. The shade Petal is particularly dreamy, it's akin to my natural lip shade so it helps make everything look a lot fuller without the need to overdraw.
SOAP & GLORY SMOOCH OPERATOR LIP BALM*: I've become a little bit of a high-end lip balm snob over the past couple of years. With the likes of the Dior Creme de Rose and Nuxe Reve de Miel reigning my supreme in my collection. I was in two minds before trying this balm from S&G, it was either going to be awesome or total rubbish. I'm so glad I didn't dismiss this because it's awesome, it's beautifully hydrating and fights off any dryness with ease. The smell is divine too so be warned you might want to lick this off upon application. Granted, it's not the biggest pot in the world, but that can be forgiven for the price.
What are your favourite products from the year so far?
