5 Current Beauty Essentials

I'm a stickler for my comfortable beauty routine, just using what I know and love. It's rare that new products come in and out of my daily roster. A lot of favourites had come to an end and I had the urge to give some new competitors a try and see if they could make the cut and these five items have.

Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede: I've stood at a JM counter and sprayed and sniffed this so many times I've lost count. I always walked away because I don't need any more perfumes. My 25th birthday rolled around and Jen handed me a cream and black gift wrapped bag and I almost wept with happiness. I already knew what was inside because on said sniffing occasions Jen is always by my side. Describing this is difficult, to me it smells like warm evenings and champagne which is an odd combination, but one that totally works. Terrible scent description as expected. It won me over because it's warming & fresh at the same time and a complete S/S staple.

Soap & Glory Smooch Operator Lip Balm*: After using up my beloved Nuxe Reve de Miel and the Dior Creme de Rose being apparently discontinued I was on the hunt for something new. Enter this little pot of wonder from S&G, I never thought of them for awesome lip balms, but it's a hidden gem in their line. It's a thick buttery balm that hydrates and revives even the worst chapped lips. The delicious mango scent is a dream upon application, almost good enough to lick off within seconds.

Zoeva Golden Luxury Brushes*: Can we just appreciate the sheer beauty of these brushes? I mean if they aren't a heart eyes Emoij then I don't know what is. The original rose gold set of brushes are staples when it comes to my beauty tools so I'm thrilled to be giving the second set a go. The design of these is nothing like I've ever seen, they're almost pretty to use. The one that I'm most excited about is the 104 buffer brush which is the perfect pressed power companion.

Clinique Turnaround Daytime Revitalising Moisturiser: As my tired and stressed out skin days seem to be behind me I've been managing to get my glow back with the help of this moisturiser. It's got a slight golden tinge to it so is illuminating and evens out the complexion perfectly. In the warmer months, I'm typically more oily so I need a moisturiser that provides me with enough hydration but not so much that I resemble an oil slick. As this is oil free it ticks all the right boxes for me and one I will definitely be returning to next year when the weather is fine.

Soap & Glory Smoothie Star Body Buttercream*:  I think it's almost safe to say that it's bare leg weather? So I've been reaching for my fail safe body products in preparation. The S&G body creams are a reliant source of moisture for me, they've got a plethora of scents to choose from. Recently I've been reaching for the Smoothie Star line that's a seriously sweet scent that I can't get enough of. With sweet almonds, vanilla and pistachio it's heaven on parched skin. I've been suffering from some horrible dryness on my legs and applying this leaves me silky smooth pins without a flaky patch of skin in sight.
