My Favourite Tinted Balms
My beauty routine just wouldn't be the same without the arsenal of tinted lip balms I've acquired over the years. I seem to be becoming even more lazy on an everyday basis and just cannot find the energy to slick on a bonafide lipstick. So this where these tinted balms come into play and here are a few of my favourites.
Clarins Lip Balm Crayon*: The smell of these dreamy gold clad balms is so good that I don't know how I've refrained from eating them. They err on the side of more lipstick than balm as they don't feel as creamy or hydrating as a typical balm when you apply them but when worn all day you can definitely feel the moisturising benefits. They have an almost satin finish on the lips so are pretty long lasting and completely fuss free to apply.
Clinque Chubby Stick Baby Tint: Another addition to the chubby stick family, will they ever run out of ideas for them? Probably not. These are very similar to the Clarins option apart from the colour payoff is a lot sheerer and they adhere to the natural tone of your lips. These are a touch more glossy on the lips which are great for a minimal look.
Lanolips Lip Ointment in Rose*: The original Lanolips is one of my favourite lip balms so I was bound to love the tinted variety. The shade rose deposits a lovely wash of milky pink on the lips, although sheer in colour they are really beautiful. They are super hydrating and really comfortable to wear all day and wear away evenly leaving a smooth base for re-application.
Fresh Sugar Berry Lip Balm: By far the most pigmented out of the bunch and probably my favourite at the moment. They could easily be classed as a lipstick as the colour payoff is incredible and I have the 'Berry' shade which can be built up to a really vampy finish. They are super nourishing on the lips and they don't scrimp on the moisture by any means.
Burt's Bees Tinted Balm: For the price these balms really cannot be beaten, they give a sheer wash of colour whilst being incredibly moisturising. The shade Pink Blossom is very similar to one of my favourite MAC Lipsticks Creme Cup, but I think I prefer this formulation over the MAC offering. I'm currently eying up more shades to add to my collection so if you have any suggestions do let me know.
Korres Lip Butter: I feel like I've got some sort of Pokemon type mantra with these adorable little pots of lip balm goodness, I need them all. Of course, my only gripe with them is that they are in pot form which isn't hygienic for them to be taken on the go. I love that these aren't overly glossy as the darker colours, in particular, are so pigmented that they could easily end up all over your face. A little goes a long way and they soon get to work on helping tackle any dryness.
