A Beauty Box Really Worth Trying

Beauty boxes constantly come and go in the beauty world but it's rare that one makes a lasting impression and provides a service I truly believe is worth paying for. But I think I might have finally found one...

THE TILI BOX*

Tili stands for Try It, Love It and the box comes from QVC. What makes this box so different is that this isn't a subscription service so you're not roped into paying for something you might not be getting the most out of. You pay £20 one off and receive 10 products, some are full size, some are very generous sample sizes which I think is the real highlight of the box because so often when you receive a smaller size of something it's not enough to see if you really love it but these samples provide just the right amount of product. The box is worth £70 which is easy to see as it contains a plethora of luxury brands.

WHAT DO YOU GET?

  • Essie Mint Candy Apple - a salon professional Essie polish.
  • Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Coconut Breeze - a pre shampoo deep hair treatment.

PERSONAL FAVOURITES FROM THE BOX

PHLILIP KINGLSEY ELASTICIZER*: I used this many years ago and didn't quite get along with it but when trying it again I've found this is far more effective when used on dry hair and left on for a long period of time. When I know that I'm not going to be leaving the house I slather this on pretty liberally in the morning and wash it off in the evening and it leaves me with beautifully smoothed out hair. But it's never left my hair greasy which can often be what happens with such rich hair treatments. This is a limited edition version which smells absolutely beautiful a rich coconut scent with a hint of vanilla with a few fruity notes thrown in for good measure. I can imagine on really dry course hair this would work wonderfully as after a few days of constant curling my hair was well in need of the moisture boost this provided.

AUSTRALIAN BODYCARE SKINWASH*: Ever since last Summer I've been struggling with large red cyst like spots on my chest and whenever I regularly exercise and sweat a lot they always get worse. This body wash from Australian Bodycare has tea tree oil in it, which has been a huge help to keep the blemishes under control, and help the existing ones heal. Spots on your body aren't something that's typically spoken about online. But especially as the weather is getting warmer it's something that comes up time and time again.

PXI GLOW TONIC*: I don't need to talk about why I adore this product so much as it regularly comes up in my skincare posts and has been a staple of mine for years. But to have it in such a small size is perfect for either taking on the go or if you've never used this cult skincare item before then it's a great amount to try before taking the plunge for the full size. If you've not caught any of my other love letters to the Pixi Glow Tonic, I'll keep this short and sweet for you. It's a toner that contains 5% glycolic acid that works at sloughing away dead skin cells to leave you with a brighter and clearer complexion.

MALLY SHADOW STICK*: Shadow sticks are something that I've really fallen for over the past few years because they're so easy to use and travel with. The Mally Shadow Stick* in the shade Smoky Quartz is truly beautiful, it's a purple cool toned slightly bronze shade that I've been really liking to run through my bottom lash line. If you were more daring this would look beautiful all over the lid and the formulation is so creamy that it's a complete dream to work with. You can easily use your finger to work this onto the lid which saves using a brush when you're in a time crunch.

MOLTON BROWN SHOWER GEL*: A Molton Brown shower gel has been on my to-try list for what feels like forever. Because they're such a cult and coveted brand with a huge loyal following and when a brand has that you know that it's probably going to be for good reason. The scent of this shower gel was absolutely delicious, the floral notes from the lily in combination with the softness of the magnolia is a dream. It sounds silly but there is just something about high-end shower gels that are much nicer to use than your stand cheap option. They're always so soft and soothing on the skin and never feel at all drying. There's a reason why these body products are always a fail-safe gift and because they're so lovely to use.

ESSIE NAIL POLISH*: Obviously, Essie is my all time favourite nail polish brand, I've said it time and time again. It was fun to revisit a shade that I've not worn for years too. Mint Candy Apple was the blogger shade of choice for a long time and I'm sure we've all worn it at some point. It's not something that I'd wear on my fingers now but on my toes for S/S, it's perfect.

THIS WORKS IN TRANSIT CLOSER UP*:  I used to use this many years ago so again, it was great to revisit it now my skin is a lot different. It's a mask, moisturiser and primer all in one and typically when a product promises all of those things they don't deliver but this does. I personally like to use this as a primer for when my skin looks a little drab as it contains caffeine which helps to pep up the complexion as well it containing other skincare benefits it's a great overall product to use and a wonderful multitasker so you're not reaching for multiple products. It's not one that's going to increase the wear time of your base but helps the general appearance of any base products throughout the day.
